To truly appreciate Malaysia’s cultural landscape, you will first have to understand Malaysia history and the diversity of its ethnic people. They are the two largest components of Malaysia culture.
The Straits of Melaka was an important trading centre, along the ancient East-West maritime route. During its heydays, settlements around the Strait attracted scores of immigrants from around the world.
Subsequently, interweaving between foreign immigrants and locals culminated in a complex mix of religion and tradition. Convoluted by the passage of time, it resulted in a unique amalgamation of Malaysia culture. From tradition to heritage, the multicultural influence is apparent and profound. The cultural footprint extends to every aspect of Malaysian life, including Malaysia food, even architectural design :-
